Welcome Potential Student and Active Military ISWM Members

Application for Membership (Student or Military)

As a student pursuing a degree or career related to the metrology field, we would like to invite you to join the ISWM on an interim basis with a free membership. There are some requirements for obtaining this membership as follows:

  • You must be actively pursuing an education or career as a STEM student in fields related to some form of weighing or measurement.
  • You must obtain an ISWM sponsor in the division of your choice who will vet your credentials and either approve or disapprove of your application. If your sponsor approves you, your information will be reviewed by the Executive Committee for final admission to the Society. We will assist you in finding a sponsor if you do not know any current members of the ISWM.
  • Your membership will be approved for a one-year period from the time you join the society.
  • You may continue to renew as long as you maintain good standing in pursuing this career field.
  • Once you graduate or secure a paid position within the field, we will sponsor one more year of membership.

This membership is a non-voting position but does come with many benefits of the ISWM including but not limited to:

  • Interface with an ISWM sponsor for career discussions and/or advice
  • Access to the ISWM Membership database
  • A free subscription to the ISWM Newsletter and ISWM News Magazine.
  • Invitations to division and national events for participation at member pricing
  • Access and use of the ISWM Job Board at member fees (free)
  • An industry related personal endorsement from your ISWM sponsor
